Guidance from school-based professionals

Founded by school therapists with a passion for working with students, Ampersand Therapy staff has first-hand experience in schools, giving us the ability to help train, mentor, and troubleshoot with our clinicians. Our therapy roots give us a unique perspective to better understand district and specialist needs.

Modern Platforms

All "paperwork" is completed digitally. Onboarding items, timesheets, our handbook, and all other logistics are managed and tracked through a user-friendly web portal which can be accessed easily through a laptop or phone. Say goodbye to papercuts.

Quick and easy communication

We are a small business consisting of 3-4 office staff, so we can move and respond quickly to your specific needs without hurdles or red tape. We are available all times of day through email, call and text.

Supporting your neighbors

Our office staff is small and we're local to WA and CO. Any proceeds directly benefit our families and local communities. In turn, we do our best to support small and locally owned businesses.

Zero Non-Compete

Contract work isn’t for everyone - if it works better for you to work directly with the district, you're free to transition into a district employee position, with no fees or time restrictions.

Benefits*

High Hourly Rates

  • On average our rates are between 20-40% higher than national contract companies.

  • We do this by minimizing our overhead costs including less office space, decreased consumption of office materials, using creative and affordable marketing, and utilizing referrals

Paid Sick Leave

  • Paid sick leave is usually accrued at 1 hour per every 40 hours worked

  • This can be used anytime and any unused hours may either be cashed out at the end of the school year or at the end of your contract or rolled over into the following school year

401k Matching

  • You are eligible to contribute to a 401k program which we will open for you upon request

  • We will match 100% of your contributions up to the first 1% of your income.

Volunteer PTO & Donation Matching

  • A paid day off to volunteer with a nonprofit organization of your choosing

  • Donation matching up to $200 to a nonprofit of your choosing

Reimbursements

  • Generous reimbursements for licensing, continuing education, and other professional costs

  • Mileage reimbursement at IRS rate for travel between work sites

Healthcare Benefits

After much research, we decided that our employees would benefit most from a Health Reimbursement (HRA) program

  • Under this arrangement, you purchase your own insurance plan from your State's Health Marketplace, submit the receipt to us, and we reimburse you a set amount each month, pre-taxed, to offset your costs

  • The amount we offer typically offsets at least 80% of mid-tier insurance program costs

  • The insurance programs offered at the marketplace are subsidized and oftentimes more affordable than the ones offered in traditional group plans

  • You have the flexibility to choose the plan that works best for you and your family, instead of one we would arbitrarily choose

  • You are able to keep your plan through the summer - with group plans and other contract work, your insurance may terminate when you stop working over summer breaks

  • Don’t need insurance? If you are already covered under another plan, you have the option to opt out of the program for an increase in the hourly rate

W-2 Employee

  • We file and pay employment taxes for you and withhold your taxes

  • Some flexibility if you'd prefer to be a 1099 employee

General and professional liability insurance coverage

  • You and your school district would be covered under our insurances

  • You would have to carry your own automobile insurance

Referral bonuses

*NOTE: These benefits are available to the majority of positions that are 0.8 and 1.0 FTE. Each contract may be different depending on the district. A waiting period of 30 days is required for benefits. Please see your individual offer letter for details.
